Finding my way (and not looking back)

5 notes

Mama said there’d be days like this…

I knew going into this there would be sucky runs.  I just didn’t realize they’d happen right away.

After Sunday’s run I was horrifically sore.  It was weird, because I knew that my body just needs to get used to running and adjust to how hard I want to push it, but my right hip and right ankle (the front part between my shin and the top of my foot) hurt BAD.  Luckily Monday was a rest day and due to poor planning on my part, I met with the trainer in the AM, told him about my training (and soreness) and we did chest/arms.  It was good. I needed to leave my leg alone for a day.

Yesterday - still a bit sore, but better.  Thought I’d be all ready for the next run.

Last night I ran with TNT for Run #3 (of 96. I counted.) and we did the same loop around Greenlake that I’d done on Sunday.   IT HURT SO BAD.  My ankle ached with every step and my right hip just felt…wrong.  I ran with a different coach and was just SO discouraged by my joints that…ugh.  It wasn’t good.

I iced my ankle and my hip last night and my ankle feels a LOT better today, but not my hip, so I’m going to the chiropractor today - it’s not the first time it’s been sore like this and getting adjusted usually helps.  We’ll see what happens.  I WILL NOT GIVE THIS UP.
